These contracts will provide for the design and conduct of Phase III and/or Phase IV clinical trials to develop and test different therapeutic approaches/regimens that will reduce overexposure to antimicrobial drugs, thereby decreasing the likelihood of antimicrobial drug resistance and preserving the effectiveness of existing antimicrobials.
