72--Transformer Cooling Fans for Lower Granite Dam

The following specifications pertain to the purchase of fans and associated parts for use within the T1 and T2 Main Transformer Fans at Lower Granite Lock and Dam. The successful offeror shall be required to fabricate and deliver transformer cooling fans and associated parts, as specified below, to Lower Granite Dam by the date shown in Section Shipment and Delivery.


The main transformer fans and associated parts shall be per Krenz & Company or approved equivalent as specified below:

Item 0001: Horizontal Air Flow Fanas met by Krenz Part #F26-A8679 or approved equal: 1/6 HP, 3-Phase, 60 HZ, 208-230 V, 232 W, 4.02 A (Starting), 1.06 A (Running), 1.20 A (Nameplate), 1140 RPM. Fan guards shall be hot dip galvanized OSHA fan guards. Fan blades shall be a one-piece, cast aluminum fan blade.

Item 0002: 4W Female Receptacleas met by Krenz Part #CON-A8320 or approved equivalent: 3 phase, 4 pole, 4W female receptacle.

Item 0003: 4W Male Plugas met by Krenz Part #CON-A8323 or approved equivalent: 3 phase, 4 pole, 4W Male Plug with 6 foot cord.

Item 0004: Cast Aluminum Junction Boxas met by Krenz Part # ACC-A8563 or approved equivalent: Box shall have two 3/4 inch FPT openings with 1/2 inch FPT reducers for power supply connection. Junction box cover shall have two 1/2 inch FPT openings for one or two female receptacles or cordsKrenz Part #ACC-A8563 or approved equivalent.

Item 0005: Fan Motoras met by Krenz Part #MTR-A8270 or approved equivalent:
1/6 HP, 3P, 60 HZ, 208-230 V, 1140 RPM: Fan motor shall be a totally enclosed, permanent split capacitor, with automatic overload protection. It shall contain sealed ball bearings lubricated with heavy duty grease. Motor shall be weatherproof with shaft slinger, rotor and small parts zinc phosphate treated, Class F insulation rated with Class B temperature rise. Motor shall be furnished with drain holes to allow draining of condensation. Connection can be made in end bracket with lead entry through inch FPT hole. Motor shall be capable of being used in any position, and shall be U.L. and C.S.A. recognized.

Item 0006: 26 inch Fan Bladeas met by Krenz Part # BLA-D8523 or approved equivalent: 26 inch diameter Cast Aluminum blade, with 0.625 inch bore, Counter-clockwise from inlet side.


Quotes will be evaluated using the Lowest Priced Technically Acceptable method. Offers will be evaluated for technical acceptance by using Past Performance and Submittals. Please see FAR Clause 52.212-2 Evaluation-Commercial Items listed in this solicitation for detailed information.


Each system shall be covered by a minimum one-year warranty on all parts, labor and workmanship from factory defects.


All items shall be delivered FOB Destination to Lower Granite within four (4) weeks after date of contract award. The contractor shall be responsible for packing and shipping the components in a manner that will ensure undamaged and complete arrival to Lower Granite Dam. No shipments are allowed other then normal business hours of Monday-Thursday 6:30AM-5PM, excluding holidays. All shipments shall be delivered to: Lower Granite Dam, Attn: Vernon Hershberger, 885 Almota Ferry Road, Pomeroy, WA 99347.
