The National Park Service intends to issue a prospectus on Thursday, January 13, 2011, for proposals to operate passenger transportation by boat for visitors between the NPS ferry terminal in Patchogue, New York and Watch Hill, Fire Island, New York. It is expected that the new contract will be effective May 2011 and will end October 31, 2019.

The Director, pursuant to 36 CFR Part 51, has determined that the existing Concessioner is a preferred Offeror for the Contract to be awarded. The exact length of the term will be determined when the effective date is determined, at the time of Contract execution.

The prospectus will be issued on January 13, 2011, for a 60-day response period under the terms described in the prospectus, with proposals due on March 14, 2011, no later than 4:00 p.m. (Eastern Time). Any offer, including that of the existing Concessioner, must be received by the Commercial Services Program Manager, National Park Service, 200 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia PA 19106 by this date in order to be evaluated and considered for award of a Concession Contract. There is a printing cost recovery charge of $50 per copy to be delivered via Federal Express or $40 per copy if picked up in person. Checks or money orders (no cash or credit accepted) must be payable to the National Park Service; and you must include a business address (no post office box) to receive a Federal Express package. Prospectus packages will be available by contacting Kathleen Karhnak-Glasby, Senior Concessions Specialist, National Park Service, 200 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia PA 19106. Telephone inquiries may be directed to 215-597-7062. Additionally, the prospectus will also be available for review, after January 13, 2011, at http://concessions.nps.gov/prospectuses.htm.
