The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Proposal (RFP) for DOCKSIDE Repairs to the USCGC KATMAI BAY. The acquisition will be solicited as a HUBZONE Business Set-Aside. The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. The acquisition will be issued as a Best Value, Request for Quotes (RFQ), on or about April 15, 2015. The NAICS Code is 336611. The acquisition is for DOCKSIDE REPAIRS of the USCGC KATMAI BAY. The homeport is the 337 WATER STREET, SAULT STE. MARIE, MI. GEOGRAPHICAL RESTRICTIONS- HOMEPIER. Anticipated start date on or about 20 AUGUST 2013 TO 24 SEPT 2013. This acquisition is Subject to Availability of Funds. The scope of the acquisition is to: (1) Main Diesel Engine (MDE) Exhaust Stack Uptakes, Clean; (2) Ship Service Diesel Generator (SSDG) Exhaust Piping, Commercial Clean; (3) Boiler Exhaust Stack Uptakes, Commercial Clean; (4) Circuit Breakers (60 Hz), Inspect and Test; (5) Vertical Capstan, Level 2 Inspect and Repair; (6)Boat Boom, Level 2 Inspect and Repair; (7) Decks - Exterior, Preserve (Non-Skid Broadcast Grit System; (8) Deck Covering (Carpeting), Renew; (9) Deckhouse Plating Renewal, In way of Windows; and (10) Steering Gear (General), Overhaul. All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures.
