The goal of SIMPLEX is to create domain-agnostic mathematical formalisms to capture functional relationships across multi-scale heterogeneous data and forms of knowledge. Proposed formalisms should be modular and extensible across a wide variety of scientific domains. SIMPLEX will enable investigation of scientific questions through formal mathematical techniques and data-driven interactive queries to complement the time-consuming and often insufficient pursuit of published literature.
