THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION FOR COMMERCIAL ITEMS PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FORMAT IN FEDERAL ACQUISITION REGULATION (FAR) SUBPART 12.6 "SOLICITATION FOR COMMERCIAL ITEMS", AS SUPPLEMENTED WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION INCLUDED IN THIS NOTICE. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION. QUOTATIONS ARE BEING REQUESTED AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. This solicitation number is RFQ-RT-11-00162 and the solicitation is being issued as a 100% small business set aside Request for Quotation (RFQ) using FAR Part 12 Commercial Items and FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 05-51. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 541380 - Testing Laboratories, which has a size standard of $14.0 million, is applicable. A firm fixed-price contract is anticipated to result from award o f this solicitation.

The procurement is for analysis of 63 samples (as described in the Statement of Work):

32 Species identification/enumeration only

28 Species identification/enumeration & group biomass determination

3 Benthic fractionation (4 sub-samples): species identification/enumeration only

Total = 63 stations

The period of performance of this contract shall be 12 months from the date of contract award, plus one (1) additional 12 month option period.
