Establish and conduct basic, applied, and advanced research and development, and system demonstration experiments, using both independent and collaborative approaches. The goal is to develop and evaluate advanced combustion systems and explore novel propulsion concepts and cycles which may include gas turbine engines, small engines, hybrid engines and new concepts of interest to the Air Force. This program may also include studying components related to the new concepts and cycles. Collaboration with multiple entities from Government, industry and academia is expected.
