Combined Synopsis/Solicitation

The objectives of this effort are to raise the Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) of SWIR Camera technology to a level high enough to make it ready for widespread program insertion and acquisition; to increase the device performance while reducing the cost to less than $5000 per item (not including optics); and to expand manufacturing capabilities so the SWIR technology can be more responsive to the needs of U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Agencies, their customers and the defense industrial base. Subsequently, this effort seeks to establish a merchant supplier base for not only the camera cores but sensors, packaged and unpackaged focal plane arrays, wafers and other associated components of SWIR sensor technology to allow for other companies to be able to realize different form factors.
