The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Acquisition Management Division, on behalf of the Radioactivity Group of the Ionizing Radiation Division of the National Institute of Standards and Technology, intends to negotiate with NRMAP, Inc, 401 Parkwoods Ave, Saint Louis, MO, on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR Subsection 6.302-1, for the development and continued certification of radioactivity standard reference materials (RSRMs), which are used by the medical profession, many government agencies and private and industrial companies for calibration of equipment used to determine patient dosage for diagnostics and treatment

Interested parties that are authorized by NRMAP, Inc. to sell the aforementioned services may clearly and unambiguously identify their capability to do so in writing on or before the response date for this notice. Such written responses will be used solely to determine whether competitive procedures could be used for this acquisition.

The North American Industrial Classification system (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 325188, and the size standard is 1,000 employees.

No solicitation package will be issued. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. Inquires will only be accepted via email to The government will consider responses received by 5:00 p.m., EST, 08/29/2009. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. No telephone requests will be honored.
